Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Orbiter collects, uses, and protects information when you use our app (Orbiter, bundle ID com.spark.orbiter). By using the app, you agree to the practices described here.
We collect the minimum amount of information required to operate the game and its leaderboard features.
Automatically collected
·
Anonymous user ID — generated locally on first launch and stored on-device. This ID is used to attribute your scores and progress in Firebase without linking to any personal identity.
·
Game progress — levels completed, star ratings, and best lap times. Stored locally on your device and synced to our Firebase backend for leaderboard purposes.
·
Device and platform metadata — operating system version, app version, and similar technical data. Used to diagnose crashes and improve compatibility.
Optionally provided by you
·
Display name (Pilot Name) — a nickname you choose for the leaderboard. This name is publicly visible. You are not required to provide a real name. You can change or remove it at any time from the app settings.
How We Use Your Information
·
To run and display the in-game leaderboard rankings.
·
To save and restore your game progress across devices.
·
To diagnose technical issues and improve the app.
·
To serve advertisements (via Google AdMob — see below).
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties. We do not use your data for profiling, behavioural advertising beyond AdMob, or marketing communications.
Google AdMob
Orbiter displays ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized advertisements, subject to your device's ad-tracking settings. You can limit ad tracking in your device's privacy settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads). For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Firebase (Google)
We use Firebase for anonymous authentication, Firestore (database for leaderboards and pilot profiles), and Crashlytics (crash reporting). Firebase is operated by Google LLC and processes data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. Data may be stored on servers in the United States and other regions where Google operates.
Expo / EAS
The app is built using Expo and may receive over-the-air (OTA) updates via Expo's update service. Expo may collect anonymous telemetry related to app updates. See expo.dev/privacy for details.
Orbiter requests access to your photo library only when you choose to share your orbit replay video to Instagram Stories. The video is generated locally on your device and saved temporarily for sharing. We do not upload, store, or transmit your photos or videos to our servers. Access is requested at the moment you tap "Share to Instagram" and only for that purpose.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your anonymous user ID and associated leaderboard data are retained as long as the game is active. If you wish to delete your data:
·
Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device.
·
To request deletion of your leaderboard data and pilot profile from our servers, contact us at the email below with the subject "Data Deletion Request." We will process your request within 30 days.
Note: Since we use anonymous IDs, you may need to include your Pilot Name and any identifying in-game details to help us locate your data.
Orbiter is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or equivalent minimum digital age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.
International Data Transfers
Orbiter is operated globally. Information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ from your country. By using the app, you consent to such transfers. We rely on third-party data processors (Google/Firebase) that provide appropriate safeguards under applicable law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
